Queenie and child

Some of our animals themselves have disabilites to aide in the recovery process and acceptance of a disability. Queenie, a blind pony is lead around the grounds by her seeing-eyed guide pot bellied pig named Batman.

Creatures of Rehab play a role in helping disabled veterans. Passion, a poochi puppy helps Winlom deal with the effects of brain injury he sustained since being shot in the head in the Iraq War. Medical complications are expected but the animals help bring love and support.

Creatures of Rehab need a loving home and environment for them to live. Some of the animals themselves have disabilities but help make a difference to any who enter the grounds.

Kisses, a miniature donkey has a disabled hoof and walks with a significant limp but she is the sweetest donkey ever and obtained her name from the kisses she will give any and all.

Sometimes disability occurs without warning and changes a life leaving permanent consequences. We are all one accident away from a brain injury turning lives upside down when one does occur. Sometimes, we all need help to get us through it. Please consider supporting these animals and services to help veterans and families affected by brain injuries. Donations of feed, straw and hay, cages, blankets and towels are always welcome. Refer to our donations page.

Both Scuba and Winlom sustained brain injuries while serving in the Iraq War. The Creatures of Rehab are instrumental in motivating these soldiers in not giving up the fight and trying each day to restore their lives. The animals help with promoting cognitive thinking and self-esteem but also provide love, support and nuturing to those who need it.
